Adult Individual Psychotherapy

Mental and emotional health is about finding satisfying relationships with others as well as cultivating a satisfying relationship with oneself. In working with me, you can expect to explore stuck relationships and feelings using mindfulness and the in-the-moment interactions of therapy to uncover old habits and experience more ease and fulfillment. I believe that therapy is not about changing oneself, but rather about accessing one’s own innate health and wisdom. I want to help bring out your happiest, most fulfilled self.

Identity  - Race, Gender, Sexuality

 

I care how society and history have negatively impacted the psychological, social and economic lives of people of color and other people who don't look or love like me. Identity, race, gender and sexuality can play into so many areas of a person's  life; relationship, work, family, mental/emotional wellbeing, even just the experience of walking down the street. The stress and emotional toll of this is heavy and real. Together we can create a space where exploring themes related to power, oppression and identity can help you feel understood and more free and empowered. While our session alone won't solve these larger societal problems, these themes may be present for you and can be well worth exploring together along with other things you might seek therapy for, such as anger management, stress, anxiety, depression or relationship issues. 

Parenting Support

As a parent, I understand that raising a child can be extremely challenging at times. Parenting can be the most beautiful thing and can also push us right to (and beyond) our edges. Since 2014, I have offered parenting support sessions that include therapy and psycho-education to help parents feel more resourced, prepared and supported for their most important job.

A Typical Session

Sessions last 50 minutes. I offer both in-person and online sessions.

Orientation

My orientation to psychotherapy is based in gestalt, and heavily informed by what's happening moment-to-moment in the session itself. We'll explore your history, your current life and what’s happening in the moment during our sessions. As the client, you get to pick the pace of our work together, going into more difficult territory as you are ready.
